Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB) (Arabic: البنك العربي لتونس), a Tunisian commercial bank, was created on June 30, 1982 by the integration of the branch of the Arab Bank Tunis with the Tunisian individuals. It was given for mission the contribution to the economic and financial development of the country.
Tunisian first President, Habib Bourguiba, has been helped by Abdul Hameed Shoman, the founder of the Arab Bank Group in his combat against the French colonization[1]. Shoman open to Bourguiba an account in Arab Bank-Egypt[1]. In 1952, Bourguiba permit to Shoman to open an A rab bank branche in tunisia, as Arab Bank-Tunis[1]. In 1982, Arab Bank chnged to Arab Tunisian Bank.
In 2008, the General Assembly decide to crow the bank capital from 60 millions dinars to 100 millions dinars within two years[2].; the have increase the capital of the bank to 80 millions in 2008 as a first step[3].
Today, ATB has a network of 103 branches and 12 subsidiaries.[4]
